If you are a Plastic Surgeon trained in our country, it is 7 years of Medicine and 4 years of residency in Plastic Surgery, for a total of 11 years. In my particular case, as I am a specialist trained in Brazil, it was 12 years of study, since I am a Medical Surgeon from the University of Cauca in Popayán (7 years); later in Brazil it is a requirement to do 2 years of General Surgery, which I did at the Cajurú University Hospital of the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC) and then 3 more years of residency in Plastic Surgery at the University Hospital of the Federal University of Santa Catarina. And after all the university studies, both undergraduate and graduate, we continue to update ourselves in national and international symposiums and conferences to bring the best and most up-to-date treatment to our patients.
